Diamond Youth Football Club is a rapidly growing grassroots football club based in Witham, Essex.

Founded in mid-2023 by former semi-professional footballer Nick Eyre and his wife Lia, with support from coach Sam Faux, the club was established to provide young players with a high-quality, enjoyable football experience without the rigidity and expense often associated with formal academies.

In just two years, they've expanded significantly, growing from two Under-11 teams to over 40 players aged 6 to 16, fielding squads across the U7 to U14 age groups. The teams are supported by dedicated volunteer managers and FA-qualified coaches who hold safeguarding and first-aid certifications, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. Nick Eyre serves as their sole full-time staff member, supported by approximately 45 enthusiastic volunteers, reflecting their commitment to directing resources meaningfully for the benefit of the players.

Diamond Youth FC embraces a unique identity: each team is named after a Marvel superhero, and their vibrant pink, purple, and turquoise kits help them stand out in Essex youth football. While their primary focus is not on professional pathways, several of the alumni have successfully transitioned into professional football programs. Nick also offers paid individual coaching for players looking to further develop their skills.

As they look ahead to the next season, starting in September, they plan to organise fixtures against other ambitious local clubs and continue our growth as a not-for-profit academy dedicated to maximising enjoyment, development, and community spirit.
