New Car Park Line Marking for Co-op Food Store in Rendlesham
D Line Markings Ltd was appointed by McCabe Builders to complete the thermoplastic line marking installation for the new Co-op Food Store in Rendlesham, Suffolk.
Working on a newly constructed retail development, our team supplied and installed a complete range of thermoplastic road markings to create a safe, compliant and clearly defined car park ready for opening.
The project required precision installation across both new asphalt and block paving surfaces, ensuring every marking met the required specification while providing a high-quality finish.
Scope of Works
Our works included the installation of:
- Disabled parking bays
- Parent and Child parking bays
- Electric Vehicle (EV) charging bays
- Pedestrian crossing
- Hatched safety areas
- Parking bay markings
- Access routes
All markings were installed using hot applied thermoplastic screed for maximum durability and long service life.
Preformed Thermoplastic Logos
One of the key elements of this project was the installation of preformed thermoplastic symbols for both the Parent and Child bays and Electric Vehicle charging bays.
To maintain consistency with other Co-op stores nationwide, D Line Markings arranged the supply of the approved preformed logos immediately after receiving the project order.
Within just one week, the bespoke thermoplastic symbols had been manufactured, delivered to site and installed alongside the remaining car park markings, ensuring the finished appearance matched the client's branding requirements.
Installation on Multiple Surface Types
This development featured both:
- New asphalt surfacing
- Block paved parking bays
Where thermoplastic markings were applied to the block paving, a specialist primer was first applied to ensure optimum adhesion before the thermoplastic material was installed.
Using the correct preparation methods helps maximise the lifespan and performance of the road markings.
Materials Used
- Hot applied thermoplastic screed
- Preformed thermoplastic symbols
- Specialist block paving primer
All materials were installed in accordance with industry best practice to provide a durable, highly visible finish suitable for busy retail environments.
Project Challenges
Although the installation itself was straightforward, careful planning was required to coordinate the manufacture and delivery of the bespoke preformed thermoplastic symbols within a tight construction programme.
By managing the ordering process directly, D Line Markings ensured all materials arrived on time, allowing the project to be completed without delaying the overall site programme.
Project Outcome
The completed works delivered a bright, professional and highly durable car park layout that provides clear guidance for customers while meeting the client's branding and operational requirements.
The combination of precision thermoplastic screed markings and factory-manufactured preformed symbols created a clean, consistent finish across the entire development, ready for the store's opening.
