Yard Resurfacing and Car Park Improvements at Colchester Ambulance Station

D Line Markings Ltd was appointed by the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust to manage and deliver a complete resurfacing and line marking project at Colchester Ambulance Station in Lexden, Essex.

Having previously completed works for the Trust, we were delighted to be approached again to coordinate improvements to their operational yard. The objective was to modernise the existing facility by resurfacing worn areas, increasing parking capacity and improving the overall layout to better support the day-to-day operation of the ambulance station.

Working in partnership with our trusted surfacing specialists, LSL Surfacing Ltd, the project was carefully planned and successfully completed over a seven-day programme, minimising disruption to this busy emergency service facility.

Scope of Works

The project included:

• Resurfacing in the existing operational yard
• Removal of an existing grassed area
• Construction of additional parking spaces
• Surface preparation and reinstatement
• Installation of new thermoplastic parking bay markings
• Final site clean and completion

The redesigned layout has created a more efficient, organised and safer environment for operational vehicles and staff.

Working in Partnership with LSL Surfacing Ltd

To deliver a complete turnkey solution, D Line Markings Ltd worked alongside LSL Surfacing Ltd, who carried out the resurfacing works under our project coordination.

The existing surface was removed where required before being fully prepared and resurfaced to provide a smooth, durable finish capable of withstanding the demands of a busy ambulance station operating around the clock.

By managing both the surfacing and line marking elements, we ensured the project progressed efficiently and was completed to a consistently high standard.

Professional Thermoplastic Line Marking

Following completion of the resurfacing works, our operatives returned to install new thermoplastic road markings, creating a clearly defined parking layout across the site.

The works included accurately setting out and installing:

• Standard parking bays
• Ambulance Bays
• Speed Hump Markings
• Organisational road markings

Using high-quality thermoplastic materials, the finished markings provide excellent durability, visibility and long-term performance within this high-traffic operational environment.
